Andrew Mitchell, the chief whip, had an argument with a policeman at the gates of Downing Street, in which he is supposed to have called the cop a "f***ing pleb", although it could be argued that Mitchell himself is the coarse and vulgar philistine who is lacking in refinement.
However, it has come to light that the policeman had mis-heard the MP - what Mitchell had called him was a "f***ing Clegg", which is actually more insulting...
